One of the best parts of summer is enjoying all the sweet and tasty fruits! Warm and sunny weather just simply calls for grilled fruit. Grilled peaches with mascarpone cheese is a creamy, tangy dessert that is a crowd favorite at BBQs. These juicy peaches seem to get even juicier once they are grilled!
Grilled peaches are an excellent healthy dessert. They are fragrant, nutritious, and the perfect way to end a BBQ. The pistachios give the peaches a smooth, nutty taste, and the mascarpone cheese is mild, slightly sweet, and buttery. The taste and texture combination of grilled peaches, mascarpone cheese, and pistachios is entirely unbeatable.
My secret addiction to this grilled peaches recipe is to add just a little bit of rose water. Rose water is a traditional Middle Eastern ingredient popular in many dessert dishes like baklava, knafeh, and basbousa. The rose water brightens the dessert and makes the mascarpone sweeter with a hint of rose.
How to Pick the Perfect Peaches?
When selecting the best peaches to grill, pick those that have just started to ripe. If they are overripe, they will fall apart on the grill. Peaches that are barely ripe will be firm enough to hold their shape, but they will also be the perfect balance of sweet and tart.
What Can I Use Instead of Rose Water?
Rose water is an excellent addition to this dessert as it is sweet and fragrant, but rose water may be difficult to find. If you don’t have rose water, you can also flavor the mascarpone cheese with vanilla. Plain honey or agave are also good substitutes.
Do I Need A Grill to Make Grilled Peaches?
A grill is preferable since it gives the peaches the best grill marks and toasted flavor. However, if you don’t have a grill, you can also use a grill pan and cook it on a stove. Whether you have a grill or a stove-top grill pan, you must remember to let the grill get really hot before placing the peaches on them. This will help them get better grill marks and prevent the peaches from getting too mushy.
Preparation
In a small pot, mix the honey with one teaspoon of rose water, whisk together, add the slice of lemon, bring to a boil, lower the heat, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Bring to room temperature before use.
On a hot grill, place the peach halves sliced side down onto the grill and let cook until tender and caramelized for about 10 minutes.
While the peaches are on the grill, In a stand mixer or a hand mixer fitted with the wish attachment, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, the cream Frenchie, two tablespoons of powdered sugar, and one teaspoon of rose water. Whisk on high speed for 5 minutes until the mix becomes fluffy.
To arrange, place the peaches on a platter using a round spoon, scoop some of the mascarpone cheese mixture into the middle of the grilled peaches, top with some pistachio, then drizzle with honey syrup! Take a bite and share a bite! Enjoy!
