8 oz unsalted or salted softened butter
20 basil leaves (cleaned dry and cut)
1 lemon zest | |
1 garlic clove (minced)
1/4 teaspoon sea salt |
Preparation
1
Soften the Butter: Start by taking the butter out of the fridge and letting it sit at room temperature until it softens. This usually takes about 30 minutes. Once the butter is soft, add it to a bowl and smash it with a spatula until it's smooth and creamy.
2
Add Flavors: Then, add the lemon zest and the garlic to the softened butter. Mix well to ensure the flavors are evenly distributed.
3
Incorporate Basil and Salt: Add the cut basil and some salt to the butter mixture. Mix everything together until well combined.
4
Store the Basil Butter: Keep the basil butter in a container in the fridge or freeze it in ice cube trays until you need it. Once frozen, transfer the basil butter cubes to a ziplock bag for easy use.
