This simple recipe will make you want to quickly whip up these warm, satisfying snacks anytime. It is definitely a crowd-pleaser, and it pairs well with a cold beer, making it an excellent snack for entertaining guests.

What Other Seasoning Can I Try?

These crunchy and tasty snacks can be seasoned with essentially anything you want! If you do not have Aleppo pepper, you can use a mix of smoked paprika and red chili. You can also experiment with whatever seasonings you have in your spice cabinet. Curry powder, turmeric, and ground cumin are other popular seasonings that would taste good on chickpeas.

Tips For the Crispiest Crunchy Chickpeas

  •  If you use a can of garbanzo beans, make sure you drain, wash and pat the beans until dry. This will allow them to get crispier and remove some of the extra starch and sodium.
  • Cooking the chickpeas in the oven and skillet will allow them to get extra crispy and absorb all the flavors and seasonings.

How To Store Them

Warm chickpeas taste best since they are very crunchy. However, you can also store them in a glass, airtight container. They will remain crispy for up to a day or two, and they can last up to a week.

You can even use homemade Za’atar spice mix with these crunchy snacks to elevate your taste buds.

Can I Use The Air Fryer For These Crunchy Chickpeas?
Yes! An air-fryer is essentially a smaller convection oven, so you can make most recipes that need to be baked in an oven in an air fryer, including these chickpeas! Just coat your chickpeas with olive oil, flavor them with seasonings, and place them in the air fryer. They should be placed in a single layer in the air fryer basket and then baked at 400 degrees F until crispy. This should take around 15 minutes. Make sure to shake the basket when they are halfway done. That way, there is an even crisp on all sides of the chickpeas.
