Marry Me Chicken Ingredients

  • Boneless, Skinless Chicken: The star of the show, boneless, skinless chicken cut lengthwise provides a tender and juicy protein base for the dish. It absorbs the sauce’s flavors beautifully.
  • Minced Garlic: Minced garlic infuses the dish with its aromatic and savory essence, enhancing the overall flavor.
  • Dry White Wine: Dry white wine brings acidity and a subtle sweetness to the sauce. It plays a crucial role in deglazing the pan and creating a flavorful base.
  • Chicken Stock: Chicken stock provides depth and a savory quality to the sauce, creating a flavorful foundation for the dish.
  • Heavy Cream: Heavy cream adds creaminess and richness, elevating the sauce’s texture and flavor to luxurious heights.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Parmesan cheese contributes a salty and nutty note, enhancing the sauce’s complexity and providing a creamy consistency.
  • Chili Flakes: Chili flakes introduce a gentle heat and a hint of spiciness, balancing the dish’s richness with excitement.
  • Dried Oregano: Dried oregano imparts a Mediterranean herbal flavor, complementing the other spices and herbs in the recipe.
  • Fresh Thyme: Fresh thyme sprigs provide a fragrant and earthy aroma, enhancing the dish’s overall sensory experience.
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Sun-dried tomatoes add a burst of intense tomato flavor and a slightly chewy texture, contributing to the dish’s Mediterranean charm.

Tips for Perfecting Recipe

  • Choose Your Chicken: The original Marry Me recipe used chicken thighs, which added extra richness to the sauce. However, I am using chicken breasts in this recipe or opting for chicken cutlets for quicker cooking. These cuts are easier to bread evenly and cook faster.
  • Cheese Choices Matter: When selecting your cheese, choose a Parmesan block and grate it yourself. You’ll discover that the flavor is far superior to store-bought pre-grated options! You can even switch out Parmesan for gruyere cheese for a heartier twist.
  • DIY Chicken Cutlets: Save money on chicken cutlets by purchasing chicken breasts and slicing them at home. This little trick can help you maintain your budget while enjoying a fantastic meal.
  • Brighten Your Sauce: Add a splash of white wine to your sauce. It not only brightens the flavors but also adds complexity to the dish. Plus, you can savor the rest of the bottle with your meal!
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Opt for sun-dried tomatoes preserved in olive oil to infuse your dish with additional flavor and vibrant color.
  • Swap the Meats: For adventurous eaters, consider substituting chicken with other meats. Experiment with pork or salmon to give your Marry Me Chicken dish an exciting new twist. The possibilities are endless, so let your culinary creativity shine!
  • Can I make this gluten-free? Absolutely! With a few simple substitutions, Marry Me Chicken can easily be adapted to a gluten-free version.

Marry Me Chicken With Sun-Dried Tomatoes Serving Suggestions

Want to impress with Marry Me Chicken? Here’s a simple trick! Serve it over al dente pasta. The juicy chicken and creamy sun-dried tomato sauce will coat the noodles, making every bite a flavor explosion.

Consider pairing it with a flavorful herb risotto or the zesty allure of lemon-infused Greek yellow rice for a heartier option. These side dishes complement the dish’s richness, elevating the overall taste of Marry Me Chicken.

If you want a lighter accompaniment, look to a refreshing Zucchini Salad with Radicchio or a crisp kale and microgreens salad. Whatever side dish you choose, rest assured that your Marry Me Chicken will shine, creating a delightful dish that tantalizes your taste buds.

How to Make Marry Me Chicken: One-Pan Recipe with Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Preparation

1.
Start by combining the flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl, mixing well to distribute the seasoning evenly. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, ensuring a light, even coating on all sides.
Gently shake off any excess flour before moving on to the next step. This simple coating helps create a golden, crispy sear while locking in moisture for tender, flavorful chicken.

2.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat until melted and shimmering. Add the coated chicken breasts and sear them on both sides until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side. Once browned, remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.

Reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic, sautéing for about a minute until fragrant—be careful not to burn it. Pour in the white wine, using a spatula to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it cook for 2 minutes to deglaze and enhance the flavor. Stir in the chicken stock and bring it to a gentle simmer, allowing it to cook for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly and deepen the sauce’s richness.

3.
Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese, letting them melt smoothly into the sauce. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes rich and creamy.

Next, add a pinch of chili flakes for a subtle kick, along with dried oregano and a few sprigs of fresh thyme. Stir well to blend the flavors, letting the herbs infuse into the sauce for a deep, aromatic taste.

4.
Return the seared chicken to the skillet, nestling it into the rich, creamy sauce. Sprinkle the chopped sun-dried tomatoes over the top, allowing their tangy flavor to blend into the dish. Let the chicken simmer gently for 5–7 minutes, ensuring it absorbs the flavors and cooks through completely.

Once done, garnish with fresh thyme leaves for a final touch of aroma and freshness. Serve hot, spooning extra sauce over each piece for the ultimate indulgence. Enjoy the irresistible flavors of Marry Me Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomatoes—a dish so good, it just might spark a proposal! ❤️

Recipe Tips & Suggestions

Storing Tip

If you don’t finish this dish, you can easily store it and reheat it the next day! Marry Me Chicken can be kept in your refrigerator for up to three days. Keep it sealed in an airtight container or with cling wrap. Unfortunately, Marry Me Chicken doesn't freeze well. It's best to make what you'll need for one meal or can eat within the three-day refrigeration limit.

How to reheat this dish

While this dish keeps well in the refrigerator, it still needs some help to get ready to eat! This is because the sauce will thicken as it cools in the refrigerator. However, you can easily reheat it by adding some water or chicken stock. Adding liquid to the dish before you reheat it will prevent the Chicken from drying out. It will also make the sauce the right consistency.

      Hi Rana
When you say chicken slices do you mean a chicken breast cut lengthwise. If so, would that mean the recipe is for three full chicken breast making six slices or ..? It looks like a wonderful recipe. I am already married but he may ask me again after having this.

So, for this recipe, you would need three full chicken breasts to make six slices. I’m so glad you’re excited to try it. I hope you and your husband enjoy it! Yes, my husband asks me every time I cook it for him! It is a small joy in life. Happy Cooking.
