Ranch Salad dressing- definitely better than store brought ones!

Ranch salad dressing is one of the most popular salad dressings, and it is even better when it is homemade. In this ranch dressing, you could use either mayonnaise or sour cream for creaminess. I like to use sour cream with an equal amount of buttermilk. If you want a thicker dressing, use less milk, and more sour cream, and reverse the ratio for a thinner dressing.

This dressing tastes amazing with any salad! Store it in an air-tight container and it stays fresh for around four days. Now, you can skip buying this from the store and make your own ranch salad dressing.

Also, using fresh herbs with dry herbs will give your salad dressing more depth and flavor. Ranch salad dressing is perfect for any kind of salad, and it can also be used as a dip for carrots, broccoli, celery, cauliflowers, or even bell peppers. Of course, ranch dressing is also an iconic dipping sauce for chicken wings.



Adjust Servings
½ cup sour cream
½ cup buttermilk
1 garlic clove (minced)
1 teaspoon dry chives
1 teaspoon dry parsley
1 teaspoon dry dill
¼ cup packed fresh scallions (green and white part chopped)
¼ cup packed fresh dill
Salt and pepper to taste


To make sure the sour cream and buttermilk are properly emulsified, blend the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
